A FRAMEWORK FOR HUMAN/AI INTERACTION

Most AI interfaces begin with extraction: the user asks, the system answers, the exchange is archived. GEGENÜBER proposes a different sequence. Before output, there is orientation. Before response, recognition. Before conversation, a moment of mutual positioning.
The project investigates how AI might help users understand what they are actually asking, what kind of thinking they need, and what form the exchange should take. Rather than defaulting immediately into chat, the system uses transitional screens, response surfaces, and structured prompts to create a more deliberate encounter between human intention and machine intelligence.
As a strategy project, GEGENÜBER asks a simple question: if AI is no longer just a tool, why are we still designing it like a text field?
It is both a framework and a visual design study, using interface architecture, language, and interaction rhythm to imagine a more considered, less automatic relationship between human and machine.
